Hi, I’m Malcolm and yes... that’s the only thing I remembered from GCSE German.
Back then, I thought languages were pointless because “everyone speaks English, don’t they?” That all changed when I travelled through Latin America at 24, fell in love with Spanish, and discovered my passion for teaching.
After training as an English teacher and moving to Andalucía, I quickly realised that real communication is about more than grammar and textbooks — it’s about confidence, culture, and connection.
These days, I help students speak English naturally in everyday situations (and yes, with much more useful phrases than “Oh no... My hamster died”).
